Walking around the oldest area in Madrid is an amazing, enjoyable and relaxing experience. Unforgettable.
The change of dynasty in the Royal Spanish Crown and the era of the Enlightenment period were definitive for the change in the urban planning, resulting in a beautiful city with its palaces, emblematic buildings surrounded by trees and gardens. We will walk Calle Alcala where you will experience The Fuente de Cibeles and Puerta de Alcala, Palacio de Cibeles, Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Neptuno, Prado Museum, Thysseen-Bhornemisza Museum, all of which are symbols of Madrid.
This bohemian neighborhood of 17th century Madrid is where Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Quevedo, Gongora, our most important writers, novelists, poets, playwrights of the Spanish Golden Age lived. We will visit the Plaza de Santa Ana where the historical openair theater, Corral de Comedias, was enjoyed. Walking around the today also popular Calle de las Huertas, you will feel how life was in this old bohemian neighborhood, and the original street marks on the houses wherein these talents created their masterpieces.
